Reference List for APA- style:-
The alphabetical list of works cited is called "References" in APA style. These are the guidelines to prepare your list of references.
1. Need to give Double space each entry and use hanging indentation (the first line of an entry isn't indented, but every consequent line in the entry is indented five spaces).
2. Content should be Alphabetize the list of sources by the editor's (or author 's) last name; if there is no editor or author, alphabetize by the first word of the title other than a, an, or the. Need to Use initials for an editor's first and middle names. For two or more works by an editor, organize the works by date, oldest work first.
3. Apply one space after colons, semi-colons, periods and commas.
4. If there are two or more writers', use all writers' names rather than "et al" unless there are eight or more writers. Again, begin with the last name and use initials for the first and middle names for all writers'. In a place of the word "and," use an ampersand (&) and separate the names with commas.
5. Need to write publication date should appear in parentheses directly after the last author's name; place a period after the final parenthesis. For books, list year only. For newsletters, magazines and newspapers give the year followed by the exact date on the publication (2000, November 10). If you list two works by the same author published in the same year, alphabetize by title, unless they are part of a series.
6. Need to put the title of a book after the year of publication. Book subtitles and titles should be italicized. Capitalize only the initial word and proper nouns in a title or subtitle.
7. You don't need to put titles of articles in italics or quotation marks and as with a book, only the initial word of the article title and subtitle and any proper nouns are capitalized. Periodical titles are capitalized just as you would normally and italicize the name of the volume number and the periodical.
8. Should have Include the city and official state abbreviation as well as the publisher in book documents. If the city is well known, skip over the state abbreviation. The publisher's name may be shortened, as long as it is easy to identify, as in this example: New York: Harper.
9. Must Use p. (pp. for plurals) only before page numbers of newspaper articles and chapters in edited books, not in references to articles from journals and magazines. In contrast, parenthetical references in the text of a paper leading to specific pages always include p. or pp.-no issue what type of cause.
10. You must be given Retrieval information for electronic sources. The statement should provide the website address or URL, of the source.
11. Cite private communications only as in text citations-do not take in them in the reference list.
